Pros

Penske is a leader in the Industry

Cons

Penske unfortunately is no longer intersted in long term employee relationships and only looking at the bottom line. Keeping younger, healthier and less paid associates compared to honoring longtime dedicated associates is the trend the newer management is leaning towards. Penske use to be almost like a family run company and everyone was taken care of.

Pros

Benefits are great in conjunction with being a large company and a part of the GE umbrella. Discounts for items with GE and other companies is also great. You also get a TON of management experience in multiple facits of business as an RMT due to the wide variety of tasks you must complete each day.

Cons

With reduction in staffing levels on the "field" side of things, the work/life balance is poor. As long as you're hourly, you can bet on a 40 hour work week because they refuse to pay OT. But don't expect much else beyond your hourly wage, which you work your butt off for. Even when you're on call 24 hours a day for a week, there is no bonus money for being awaken several times early in the morning, several times a week. Also, there is little movement within the company now unless you're willing to move all over the country. Lastly, they don't give a hoot about how long you work there, promotions are based on who has a better interview that day. Or they will promote to save them money so once you're salaried, they can work you 50+ hours a week for not much pay.
