Pros

Helping clients reach meet their needs is a fulfilling feeling. There is great networking opportunity and getting to know community partners and resources. If you want to stay in this field, this is a great place to be exposed to the community and make connections.

Cons

At the Santa Barbara location, management was incredibly disorganized and were not often on the same page. There were constant changes that did not make sense or provide staff with more efficiency, rather it made staff's job harder. There were no consequences for client's behavior and often left staff feeling unsafe, with low pay. If you have never been in this line of work, they do not really train you and just have you shadow people with no proper training of what your role is. Overall, this was a very stressful situation to be put in, but I am grateful for the outside networking I made.
