Good company, but needs to focus on career paths for employees

Pros

CEO is a positive, engaging person who wants employee feedback. Culture is good, lots of activities for local employees. Good product (although competition is growing).

Cons

We lose a lot of good talent because they either get burned out or don't have any career growth opportunities. Salaries for lots of positions have been capped, and good people are forced to look elsewhere to meet their personal goals.

I would like to provide some insights on career growth opportunities within the company: last year along 38% of our positions (newly added roles and promotions) were filled by internal employees. A majority of our leaders, managers and executives were promoted to their roles through internal moves. As a company that employs top talent, it is not uncommon for multiple highly qualified and experienced internal employees to compete for openings. We do live by our values and try to make sure that every promotion is filled by a candidate that meets requirements for the open position and also demonstrates our values and positive attitude.

Pros

There have been some ups and downs, but after losing some sour apples over the last year or so, things are really looking up in R&D. Great work/life balance, great people, interesting work, great technical direction.

Cons

Health benefits seem pricey, but that seems to be a nation-wide affliction lately.
