Pros

Lots of minor perks like free soda. Management cares about morale and funds periodic team-building and social activities. Coworkers are smart. Due to working in highly regulated environments, cutting corners is prohibited, resulting in actual high quality software. Projects are often short, so if one is unpleasant, it will be over in months, not years. Working for a variety of customers is nice. Good retirement plan.

Cons

The work is sometimes not very interesting. Sometimes we are brought in to rescue failing projects, which are rarely fun.

Pros

I've had the opportunity to individually contribute on multiple full-lifecycle projects, and develop my leadership skills by becoming a Project Lead. We've had historically low turnover because of the "People First" mindset. We hire only "A" players, ones with the right attitude and technical chops. PSW has a solid emphasis on high employee satisfaction - by way of well-structured Performance Reviews, transparency from Management on down, team managers who use employees strengths in finding the right role on each project, and work flexibility (9/80 program, working from home when necessary), to name a few. What motivates me to head into work each morning? The trust, flexibility, and feeling valued.

Cons

Work can be dull at times, but that's engineering on legacy programs. Personal growth can stall. It's up to me to find ways to keep motivated, through side projects (scripts, initiatives).

Pros

- Management is always very active in gathering the voice of the people in order to set policies and precedents that make the lives of the engineers easier - The people here are fantastic, a lot of very bright and fun people to work with - Fun company events and company holiday to hang out with your coworkers - Fully stocked break room, never go hungry or without coffee - Room for advancement - Room to be innovative, and also to flourish as a leader from day 1

Cons

- Pay is not up to par (for the industy) - The work can sometimes be monotonous due to the company being a contract company. You will occasionally be stuck doing something you might not desire too strongly to do, but there is usually an ebb and flow of cool work that you can get your hands on eventually.
