Absoutely horrible company

Pros

The match on the 401k is nice.

Cons

This is an absolutely horrible company to work for - at least in the Informatics division. Division was cobbled together by acquisitions, and now they appear to be divesting themselves of at least two of those. No innovation, software is extremely dated. Senior management is clueless; clear racial biases in hiring (lots of Indians, some qualified, some not - hired by senior manager who is Indian). Constant reorgs, lack of strategic vision, just a complete mess. Company likes to pinch pennies as well. Health benefits are horrible for a company of this size and the stock purchase program isn't worth it. Constant turnover, most of the good people are gone.

Good products and interesting company with very poor management

Pros

Salary was fair and flex time allowed. In the 1980's, this company was awesome.

Cons

Where do I start? Health benefits are poor and get worse every year. Co. expects you to travel, work weekends and long days to meet unreasonable deadlines. Management, especially in IT lacks creativity and fears change. Count on a 3 % raise every year IF you are a good employee. They lay seemingly useful people off (too high salaried ?) and keep the lazy ones.

Pros

Reasonable pay. Benefits were okay, but nothing exceptional. No training ever for anything. Everything, such as benefits was on-line. Never had a review. Never got a raise.

Cons

Paid $850+/month for health insurance for our family. Did PE pay anything toward the health benefits? Probably not. Zero R&D and zero marketing as well. Then, they pulled our quotas out of their butt, with no supporting historical data. Completely unreasonable expectations. Management was vastly overpaid. Quarterly RIF's were routine. If you do not live and work on the East Coast, then you simply do not count.
