Pros

Great customers, great selection of products

Cons

Your pretty much a number to them, no appreciation for going above and beyond whats expected of you. Too many policies and they constantly change them.

Pros

There's so much to learn! The stores are small enough so that you can learn just about all areas of the store if you express interest. Hard work tends to pay off, either with more hours or promotions or both.

Cons

The company is changing rapidly since it was sold. Half of the positions were pulled, resulting in management getting double the work without the pay. There's definitely a lot of seniority, but I think it really depends on which district you work in. General and Assistant Managers tend to outsourced, even though there are lots of mid-level managers that know the company inside and out and are more than qualified.

Pros

Pets Weekly pay That's about it. You get to work with pets. The discount is so small it's not worth mentioning.

Cons

Expectations are way too high for a minimum wage job that won't give you more than 20 hours a week. Cashiers are required to sell 20$ coupon books and if they don't make their goal, their hours get cut even more. Horrifyingly understaffed. Two managers and two associates at any given time. Leads to customer upset and overwhelmed workers again wildly underpaid. Misleading managers claiming theirs plenty of opportunity for more hours cross training and growth, yet it's all unobtainable if you can't convince people to spend 20$ on s coupon book. Retail stores need to stop requiring their employees to push add on items or store cards, and then punishing underwhelming results. I'm not paid nearly enough nor am I trained to be a salesman. Stop acting as though that's part of the job.
