Pros

-you get to work with all of the animals in the store other than the cats and dogs -you learn a lot about each animals needs -If you are a bio kid, you get to apply a lot of background knowledge -get to play with customers dogs all the time

Cons

-The corporation care more about than the money than they do about you -Managers tend to know less about the animals than the part time associates do -Forced to be a sales rep, not just animal care -It is not a job for someone just looking to play with animals!!!! This is messy work, just like any animal handling job. You will get pooped on, you will have to handle crickets, you will have to clean dead fish out of fish tanks

Pros

For the most part it's a great team to work with, and plenty of options in this area if you aren't liking who you work with. (I.E. Easy to transfer to other stores)

Cons

Like most retail positions, the pay is low, the expectations are high, and hours are wonky.

Pros

Incredibly small discount of 15% sometimes makes a difference. Due to having a high turnover, they try to accommodate peoples schedules.

Cons

Management is extremely lacking. They're very critical, passive aggressive and constantly hounding employees. The pay is nearly nonexistent, especially for the amount of work that's demanded of you. They're very stingy on raises and eventually stop doing them after about two years. Having to compete for days off on a busier time or on a day other employees requested, is tiresome. Something always seems to be wrong with someones performance. Management always follows up with seemingly positive feedback with something negative, as their motto is, "there's always room for improvement." You're worked until exhaustion and then asked to stay later, given random additional tasks all the while being rushed through it. They give "Pet Care Cards" when they deemed you did a "good job." you exchange them for candy. The novelty wears off quickly.
