Pros

At least I'm employed? Wearing jeans each day is still pretty good. Having the facilities like the cafe, gym and daycare on campus has always been nice

Cons

Where to begin? It breaks my heart to see what's become of this company. Fear based management and incompetence run rampant. The CEO is reactive instead of pro-active, creates initiatives like a humming bird with ADHD and then throws a tantrum when they don't workout. One idea snowballs into multiple projects that waste associates time due to lower level management hearing "I like blue" from the CEO and suddenly everything that comes from PetSmart needs to be blue. Spineless and terrified to lose their jobs, there is no leadership. No mentoring. Amazing associates have either been let go or quit without looking back. The few of us that hold out hope for the old days of a culture you could be proud of are dwindling daily. I'd cry if I wasn't so burnt out. The days were I worked hard to make a difference have been replaced by absolute apathy because just don't care anymore. This place, a place I used to take pride in working at, has just become a paycheck and a way to pay the bills until I find something better.

Pros

Lots of animal interaction of many ages and sizes. Make new furry friends daily, share experiences and smiles with all.

Cons

Very hands on, fast pace atmosphere, must be able to multitask.

Thank you! We love our pets at PetSmart and are glad you share our passion and enjoyed interacting with animals at work. We feel it’s a pretty special place, as well! Thank you for sharing!

Pros

For Pet Smart Corporate Office AZ. Pay is good as long as you don't mind being abused, put down, over worked, given unreasonable goals by people that shouldn't be leading a group of dogs to a food bowl

Cons

I have been developing for 20 years and I have never worked for a company that is absolutely clueless on the right way to get things done. There are no procedures followed here. The development of the digital applications runs to the beat of one business bully who decides on a whim to wave their magic wand and have their will done. Now you would think that upper management would be able to say this is not how business is done but rather than listen to the people they hire to do these jobs they agree to everything and anything, including pushing our code out with all kinds of issues, bugs, problems and overall crappy user experience just because someone wants it out there. It's senseless, pointless and counter productive. This company has the highest turnover rate of any corporate office I have ever seen. In the last year and half I have seen nothing but a downward spiral. It's not just the development group either. Project Manager that has no idea how to stay out of others business, or how to run a project properly. When you try and tell them it's incorrect, or come up with a process that is proven to work across the WHOLE IT WORLD no one will listen, the project manager has spoken, the business bully has waved their wand and we shall move to the beat of those drums! I for one have had enough. I'm telling anyone that is looking at this company to stay away until upper management has been flushed out for what they are and that is a cowardess group of dictators who are afraid to do things the right way in order to move this company forward. The fact that upper management secludes themselves in quiet little groups to decide the fate of the developers and other teams is a joke. Save yourself the trouble prospective talent and go find a professional environment to work in. This isn't it! If you want to compete with the Amazon's of the world for digital business you better get your act together Pet Smart because within 3 years you'll be a "Remember that pet company place, what was it, oh right Pet Smart"? Smart? That's funny.
