      Not what it used to be

      Pros

      Working with pets and pet parents.

      Cons

      Lack of availability of employees. Many times there's one cashier, one petcare person and one manager. That manager has to be customer service, backup cashier, backup petcare, answere phones.... The list goes on. Very stressful. The higher ups are too concerned about making customers happy and the scores than they are making the employees happy. Happy employees will in turn make happy customers.

      Good pay, good benifits, room to move up, working with pets

      Cons

      No work life balance, expected to preform even without the tools to do so. Cuts in associate hours so salary managers have to work on days off. High expectation of customer service with little to no labor to do it.

      Pros

      You get the opportunity to meet some amazing people while working for petsmart both associates and pet parents.You get to be around animals all day! If you had the passion you use to be able to go far with this company and people use to love coming to work, it WAS a wonderful environment.

      Cons

      After the buy out the company has really gone down the drain.. Deticated & passionate Managers and associates That have been with this company for several years have been fired or laid off.. The CARE for their associates and managers is no longer a focus.. if you become a manager expect to have no home life.. They wouldn't even work with me on the schedule so I could take my son to school in the mornings.. I've seen store managers falsely write up associates just to get rid of them.. In general the company has taken a turn for the worse.. If you look at how petsmarts reviews have been trending it will speak for itself...
