Pros

I had some amazing co-workers, both human and non-human (pets allowed in the office!) That's it. Nothing more positive to say.

Cons

Top heavy company. Too many leaders that all have differing opinions and no decisions can be made as a result. Instead they wait until the last possible second and expect the workers to get it done. The culture is bordering on toxic. They do shady things such as we didn't get a bonus this past year since sales were down. The shady part is that they didn't tell any of the employees. They were hoping we wouldn't notice. And I know a bonus isn't guaranteed, but they could've communicated WAY better. Instead they just look greedy. The leaders also expect their workers to basically be mindless robots that just do whatever they ask no matter how ridiculous. And save your breath if you have a good idea, they won't listen to you anyway. You also have an EXTREMELY hard time moving up in the company unless you completely change your career path. Or your boss quits. Otherwise most jobs are dead ends.

Pros

You get to bring your pet to work. Great coworkers. The company as a whole is a great place, lots a fun activities that involve the whole company.

Cons

Management treats team like workhorses. Long hours, pressure to go faster, Sometimes Managment literally standing behind your back while you work on finishing something for them. The store design managers are rude and talk terrible to the employees. It was such a nice place when I first started at Petco but then it because a CAD factory with no real appreciation.

Pros

+ You can bring your pets to work

Cons

- Leadership (Micro Managers all the way up to the CEO, Finger Pointing, Lack of Accountability) - Lack of clear strategy vision (changes with the wind) - Culture (Finger pointing, leadership thinks there's a 'talent issue' and takes no accountability for culture, nobody is held accountable, execs take bonuses in years when bonuses aren't handed out to anybody, lack of career coaching, advancement, leadership wants minions/doers, not thinkers or people that will challenge their thinking) - 5-10 people have been quitting a week for the past 2+ months, including high potential talent - They don't understand what it means to be an Omni channel retailer and the importance of .com (decisions are made in silos to drive margin vs what's right for the customer) - Slow pace and the amount of time and rigor it takes to move something simple forward because of the bureaucracy is mind blowing (CEO likes to be involved in minute decisions vs spending time and efforts setting clear strategy and engaging and inspiring the team) - Talent is an after thought and they restructure 1-2 times a year to get rid of the "bad talent" so continual layoffs happen because they can't get it right
