Pros

Great autonomy, work-life balance is good, and the environment is awesome. Growing company, with room for advancement from within.

Cons

Benefits are a little pricey, but good non the less. Need more locations in fringe-markets to make an impact needed to play with the big boys.

Pros

Store support team is fantastic, integrity in every action, ethical, exceptional mentors and leaders, great human resource personnel, family-like atmosphere, takes care of employees from top to bottom, very strong bonds between all stores and their supervisors, CEO and Founder are genuine people and pet-lovers, promotion is an option for those who work hard.

Cons

I have not experienced any cons yet. If we steer clear of certain competitors and their antics, I believe our company will continue to thrive and grow exponentially every year. Great company full of great people!

Pros

Although I've only been employed for a few weeks, the philosophy shared here promotes mutual respect for everyone by treating all individuals as equals. The corporate office refers to themselves as the "store support team" and strives to make new associates comfortable with relating to all levels of managment. Since the company is very new, there are exciting opportunities for advancement as people are employed during this ground level time. With only 28 stores, Petsense is continuing to open new store every few months and thoughs willing to relocate can advance very quickly.

Cons

The salary is quite low due to costs involved in starting up so many stores. I believe it will improve or I wounldn't have the taken the job. The technology for the inventory system seems very outdated and H.R. policies are pretty non-existent. It's a new company on a tight shoe-string budget being funded by private backers so it's understandable why things are not quite optimal yet.
