Free admission to the zoo for yourself and 3 guests 3 years and older Free petting and feeding the stingrays, feeding the giraffes, and other venues 35% off in gift store and food vendors most employees are happy and friendly

Cons

Angry and rude guests huge variations in hours per week scheduled and no guarantee of more than one shift per week of 4 hours inconsistent management decisions on policy

Amazing coworkers, everyone is passionate, lots of PTO, good benefits, getting to go to the Zoo everyday, built up my resume with a lot of useful experience

Cons

Low pay for the brunt of employees with top heavy salaries for execs (nature of a nonprofit, sadly), long hours without overtime as salaried employees, not much opportunity for growth as there are a lot of "lifers"

Pros

I loved working here! Being around the animals everyday made me look forward to going to work. Plus the co-workers were always so nice and helpful.

Cons

Sometimes it smells but I guess thats what you get for working at a zoo. Also, during school field trips it gets kinda flustered.
