Horrible Management

Pros

I love the people I work with and I love what we do. Protecting the public makes me feel good about my job.

Cons

They overload you with work and you never get ahead no matter how hard you try. They are very short staffed so you end up doing the job of three people. Management doesn't know what they are doing. I am currently looking for another job it's too stressful and the money isn't worth it.

Pros

Arizona State Retirement System. Your years here will count somewhere else when you finally leave.

Cons

If you did not grow up with, go to school with or marry into the people working there, you might as well go look for a professional organization and not bother here. The county has fostered an environment where the most capable and best qualified are unwelcome. If you are qualified and still want to work there, dumb yourself down for the interview so people are not threatened that you will take their jobs. We had a manager who was so mean and biased, someone went home to pick up her other uniforms and quit before the end of our day.

It has its ups and downs

Pros

They tend to be somewhat flexible with working from home and schedule. If you get lucky enough to work under some of the few upper management employees that care…stay.

Cons

Little room for raises or moving up. No paternity leave.
