Pros

Arizona State Retirement System. Your years here will count somewhere else when you finally leave.

Cons

If you did not grow up with, go to school with or marry into the people working there, you might as well go look for a professional organization and not bother here. The county has fostered an environment where the most capable and best qualified are unwelcome. If you are qualified and still want to work there, dumb yourself down for the interview so people are not threatened that you will take their jobs. We had a manager who was so mean and biased, someone went home to pick up her other uniforms and quit before the end of our day.

Pros

4 Day work Weeks. AZ state retirement, at least if your making a good salary the last three years of your tenure.

Cons

Low government pay. Extremley High Medical/Dental Insurance. No Raises in 7 years. Low Morale. Boring gray office walls. High turnover because of low pay. Good ol boy attitude. Losing alot of employees who have 15 plus years because of the above.

Pros

Dedicated staff. most employees strive to serve the pulic and provide good customer service. Having a vanpool program really helps (would be nice if the county subsidized them more) Good retirement. Medical dental and vision benefits are good

Cons

Located in Florence, almost everyone has a pretty long commute. No raises in 6 years has caused a lot of talented staff to leave. Recruiting is difficult due to location and salary.
