Pros

I recently joined PitchBook UK (London) after spending a number of years at the Seattle Global HQ and NYC PitchBook locations. It's been a great experience throughout the different offices I've had the pleasure of working at. The atmosphere and people at each of the locations couldn't be better, I enjoyed going to the office each and every day. The potential for career growth is unparalleled, with the startup mentality, there is a number of moving parts and new positions being created every day. The PitchBook team is very ambitious group globally. Being a part of the PitchBook team will push you towards achieving your full potential. I'm excited to see what lies ahead.

Cons

The startup mentality and moving parts that comes along with it may not be for everyone. It does require a level of comfort in attacking the moving parts and making each role your own. Taking initiative and identifying ways to improve or enhance the role you're in, will go a long ways at PItchBook.

Passionate, driven, but frantic

Pros

There's so much opportunity to grow within this company, but you have to take the reigns. If you're someone who doesn't need to ask permission and isn't afraid to ask for what you deserve (and you've got incredible instincts), this is a great place to work. One of the most attractive qualities about this company is that if you truly are ambitious and a self-starter (and you don't mind working your ass off to achieve what you want), there's a good chance you'll do quite well.

Cons

Extremely low compensation. There's poor leadership. As the company is growing and expanding, it's losing sight of what's important, which is attracting and retaining talent. There's absolutely no mentorship and there are no job perks. They company hires leaders, but insists they follow. While opinions are encouraged, it's Gabbert's way or the highway. While management tells you that employees are only expected to commit 8 hours every day, to do the job and do it well, you'll be putting in 10-12 hours every day. "Work hard, play hard," only applies to the sales team. Research just works hard and goes home cranky.
