Pros

This can be a great place to start your career as a designer. The place is full of high quality and passionate ICs. Overall a fun environment with interesting events. Opportunity for a lot of growth as a designer given the right team.

Cons

Expect to be underpaid ~ 50-70% of what you would make at a real tech company with little or no stock options. This is not a "tech company" consider it more of a finance / sales company with a tech arm. Leadership is uneducated about technology and how to build a tech organization. Product is undervalued. Managers are not experienced. Executive team is outdated, they tend to be extremely tone deaf and condescending to employees. No remote work policy. There is a lot of favoritism. If you aren't a standard personality type or a man, expect to be on less impactful/visible projects. With a little research you find there are massive pay gaps between employees of same or similar title and experience. Be wary of the interview process, they tend to hardball prospective employees. They use manipulation tactics like offering a certain salary and then reducing that salary at the last minute.

Pros

I have worked here for around 3 months and have been blown away by how nice everyone is and how much everyone is there for one another to help them succeed in their current role and get them ready for whatever is next. This is honestly one of the first places I have worked where I truly love my job and the people I work with, and can picture myself being at PitchBook for a long time,

Cons

I would say the only con is the WFH situation. I am excited to go back to the office and get back into "normal office life", but I know a lot of people really enjoy WFH and it seems like there are not a lot of options for people to stay at home once the office really opens up again. This could be a huge deal for a lot of people looking at PitchBook, but not wanting to go into the office.

Thank you for your feedback. It’s great to hear that you are off to a good start at PitchBook in your first three months! We understand the need and desire for flexibility and support a healthy work-life balance. We encourage employees to take advantage of the flexibility options we have put in place, such as role-based hybrid work, core office hours, 10-day work from anywhere perk and working remotely full or partial days occasionally when needed.

Pros

There were good amenities and the office is nice

Cons

They massively underpay people out of college until Amazon or someone else just poaches them. This is what they want also.
