Pros

- young company - fun environment, great people! - hybrid/flexible work environment - "trust based" pto

Cons

- middle management is too young/inexperienced - poor communication skills among management - no room for growth these days; difficult to get promoted. Seems hard to move into different departments if you're unhappy in your current role

Pros

Ability to learn a lot of skills for your desired career - financial, tech, customer success and relationship building, data analytics, etc. Great team environment across staff.

Cons

Management doesn’t take the time to learn the nuances of their team’s job. Presented concerns about changing workflows multiple times only to be met with more restrictions and no support or guidance from leadership.

Pros

- Non-management people are great. Most of the folks I work with are incredibly hard-working & motivated to do the best they can do every day. They’re also kind & fun to be around. -Support for newer reps; PitchBook does a good job of providing training & support for newer reps within Outside Sales. - Compensation: AE level roles at PitchBook have a very competitive base & benefits package and this has improved A LOT over the last few years. - Great product: PitchBook is a great product to sell, with an industry leading brand & reputable client base to reference. The product is constantly evolving & the company continues to innovate in this respect.

Cons

Toxic work culture: When the tide goes out, you get to see who people are. One of the biggest things I’ve noticed over the last 6-9 months is the demonization of taking PTO. Sales management regularly discourages individual contributors from taking PTO. They will ask their reports to “think about it” or reference the “optics”, whatever that means. I know multiple people who have quit due to the active discouragement of using benefits that are provided to us as a result of their employment. This is demoralizing to individual contributors & it would be nice if HR told Sales Management this behavior isn’t acceptable. It’s bullying & it’s coercive. Lack of flexible working options: Most other parts of the companies have 2 or 3 days they can work remote each week with the exception of Outside Sales. Given how you’re treated for taking PTO, it feels like the fact people in Outside Sales are in office each day isn’t appreciated by management.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. I am glad to hear you love the product and have benefited from the continued growth of the company. With regard to time-off benefits, I encourage you to come to me (VP of People), your HRBP and/or senior leadership within the sales team to discuss specific concerns about time off. It is absolutely the company’s intention to provide employees with time to rest and recharge and encourage employees to take advantage of all benefits provided to them. We are happy to provide coaching to managers if this message has not been clear. Your direct feedback will make this possible. I look forward to hearing from you.
