Great Company, Poor compensation

Pros

- Great product, able to control market share - Learn a ton, education is always ongoing - Everyone is young and fun to work with

Cons

- Total comp well below their direct competitors & overall tech jobs - Leadership refuses to allow WFH post pandemic even though we have had our best year - not addressing low base salaries, will not be raising comp even with inflation rising - Recruiters over promise on earnings, beware of that.

Thank you for taking the time to share your feedback. Compensation is certainly an important part of feeling valued as an employee. We strive to ensure our compensation practices are competitive and equitable and will continue to monitor and make adjustments based on market data and employee feedback. Regarding our flexible work policy, PitchBook believes in providing a collaborative work environment to help accelerate our employee's careers, which does mean being in the office more often than not. We have recently launched our hybrid-work structure, core office hours, and 10-day work from anywhere perk. These new programs are in place to encourage a healthy work-life balance and ensure our employees can maintain their new lifestyles created during COVID. We hope you will take advantage of these programs during your time at PitchBook. If you would like to share further feedback, please do not hesitate to reach out to your Sr. Leader or PBHR.

Pros

Incredible culture at PitchBook. The people are helpful, insightful, and friendly. This company gives you a crash course Masters in Finance. The tech is unrivaled. Not much more to say.

Cons

Smaller company built into a large corporation. Nothing really negative, except you're getting a start-up/self-starter feel with the perks of a big corp.

Pros

People are definitely the best part. Pitchbook is definitely full of young and talented people. I've made a ton of friends at work and some of my closest friends are ones I met through the company. If you're lucky, you get to work on some cool projects but it really depends on your position. Pitchbook provides a great place to learn about VC/PE markets. It can also teach you a lot of how one company does things especially if it's your first job out of college. I'd say it's a great first company if you're a fresh graduate. Morningstar acquisition gave us better benefits without much change to the culture. Pretty frequent and fun company events/get togethers and happy hours hosted by colleagues.

Cons

Pitchbook employees are known to be underpaid and it is true. During my 6 months here, I have already witnessed the loss of our best employees due to big tech companies stealing them with huge salary raises. Research has the most turnover because they are all worked hard and underpaid. I have few complaints regarding management but I know others who say that management doesn't listen to its employees. Pitchbook still has a bit of a startup feel so some things aren't done in the most efficient way. Things take longer to change than can be expected.
