Pros

• Super low pay - can easily get more money other places. Better places to start your career • Boring roles - very focused positions that don't allow you to see more of the business • No stocks options - weird as haven't seen many companies these days that don't offer options • Very few career progression options - pretty limited career growth • Disappointing CEO - the guy doesn't get it, has a big ego, pushes out a lot of senior leaders

Cons

• Fun people - good folks overall • Great office location - doesn't beat working by the water • Some neat events • Cool product - although starting to fall behind competitors

Pros

- You will get to work with a group of people who will undoubtedly be successful. - The company has most of the base level tech perks. - They do have some "fun" surprise bonuses and things each year. - You get to have the holidays off without digging into your PTO.

Cons

- Compensation is below market, primarily because so many people were hired at a low base...but then 4 years later, their peers are making way more because the raises were not aggressive enough. i.e. They need to be 20%+ raises to keep up with the market. - No RSU's, shares or stock awards (unless randomly awarded + 4 year vest). Morningstar CEO has refused to offer anything to employees and no one knows why. Greed? Out of touch with the market? Not sure. - Leadership seems to be unable to listen regarding "future of work" possibilities. Remote flexibility is the future and it needs to include flexibility for managers as well as IC's. There is also no such thing as "an in-person / in-office culture"...especially when there aren't enough meeting rooms to reserve to get work done. I bet employees spend 15% of their time "trying to find a room". - PTO is not paid out when you leave, so it creates issues related to people turning in their notice, then taking PTO, then moving on. And no, paying out 1 week of PTO doesn't count as it still isn't solving the root of the problem.

Pros

The product is solid, my team and manager are great and the job is never boring

Cons

Like many other recent reviews on here, the lack of WFH is frustrating. The ELT has completely ignored the employee’s voices. It is very demoralizing to know your voice doesn’t matter. Yes, there are benefits to being in the office, I don’t think anyone disagrees with that. However, times are changing and many tech companies are adopting a hybrid policy which has proven to be better for employee mental health (less commuting, more flexibility for families, etc) and production! To say I am disappointed with this decision is an understatement. Unfortunately I think PitchBook is going to lose a lot of great employees because of this.
