Pros

- Great coworkers, great benefits, catered lunches, snacks for days - Flexible schedule, lots of work from home opportunities - Creative work, fun brainstorms, cute work stories It's a young company, so it's a great place to work if you're just getting out of school. Great place to learn a lot and get tons of great experience. I've had a mostly positive time working for this company.

Cons

- Games release weekly, so there is a crunch element - Not a lot of standardization of practices across writing teams - Can feel pretty disorganized at times - A little bit of unspoken pressure to work overtime Biggest con is that the pay is not on par with other bay area tech companies/low for bay area

Pros

This is the most transparent company I've had the pleasure of working for. This company has a culture of very much caring about their employees, and I have had to deal with very little amount of bureaucracy that an engineer at a big company will have to deal with. My colleagues are all very responsive and always willing to help each other, and frankly one of the primary reasons I like coming to work. There is a lot of cool, large feature work to be done, and it is easy to see the impact of your work as an engineer. Being able to implement features throughout the entire full stack of a successful online game is a joy few engineers get to feel.

Cons

Salary is probably not up-to-par with other companies within the same area (Bay Area, Silicon Valley) Half the engineering team is currently remote, so you'll have to be ready to deal with non face-to-face communication.

Pros

Work is challenging and the people I work with are smart. Company ethics and priorities are 180 from other gaming companies. Good career growth opportunities and has startup DNA.

Cons

Game industry salary scale. Perks don't match the Facebooks / Googles of the world.
