Pros

Interesting projects, great data, strong infrastructure, good transparency, smart co-workers, average level of politics, and a company that clearly deeply cares about keeping employees happy. It is amazing to work at a company where, if something doesn't go perfectly, the senior leadership takes responsibility and explains what they are doing to make things go perfectly next time around. That same senior leadership has an open door policy that I've taken advantage of any time that I wanted answers to sensitive questions. In the 2 years I've been at the company I have seen every aspect steadily grow and refine such that today is a really exciting time to be a part of PlaceIQ. I really feel like I understand and believe in the vision and direction of the company. None of this even mentions the excellent perks: ping pong table that people actually use regularly, excellent food and coffee, easy WFH and vacation policy, etc. It is just great to be happy where you work.

Cons

Probably selfish, but PlaceIQ is a venture backed company that is expected to exit someday and as an employee who is really happy here it is hard to get excited about the idea of some stodgy old company buying PlaceIQ and ruining everything that makes it good. I also get the feeling that in the world we live in now, the best way to get paid more is to jump between jobs and keep taking offers as they come. Based on what recruiters (which, maybe aren't actually trustworthy) say, I'm passing on a nice pay bump by staying loyal to a company that I enjoy working at. For now I'm happy to do that, but it does make me feel like kind of a tool. Finally, all of the hiring I've seen so far has been based on referrals. There must be more ways to find good people out there.

Pros

Great environment to come to work each day - a chill ambience while also very motivating with open concept office; comfortable areas throughout office to sit and do work beyond your desk! Great catered breakfast and lunch 2x / week; healthy snacks Unlimited PTO is amazing -- life changing! So many fun employee events -- summer outing, holiday party usually at an awesome venue in the city; monthly themed happy hours -- it really is a very fun place to spend time beyond just usual work.

Cons

Office AC is sometimes very cold! People stay late and hang out at office bar during the week so sometimes it gets loud and distracting at like 4 / 5pm.
