Pros

PlaceIQ does a great job of balancing data innovation and fun. I was consistently challenged and enjoyed every project as I grew through the company and will miss working there.

Cons

Not much here - I think you have to be ready to work in a startup environment here to succeed.

Pros

The few decent things about the company are the free snacks, and drinks. The large open office space. Decent Wednesday lunches.

Cons

The company missed the boat on location data and analytics. Now it's become commodotized, that google and facebook have or are entering into the fray. They've had multiple rounds of layoffs, and let some really intelligent people leave or go. Companies will always have office politics, but not to the degree that runs rampant at PlaceIQ. There's definitely alot of unfounded, inflated egos at the company, even after the layoffs. They used to promote a fraternity atmosphere, where you couldn't make suggestions. Now it's become more of an every man for himself attitude. There's still that clique-ish atmosphere, to where those in the "clique" get rewarded and promoted over work based merit. It's become a bit toxic and keeping people down has become the norm. The technology used to be great, trying to solve complex problems, but now it seems they're trying to maintaian a product that's practically become commoditized versus trying to innovate something new. It reminds me of the microsoft office days, where microsoft was trying to keep the old office model when google came out with docs, sheets, slides. Microsoft at least saw the writing on the wall. and changed. PlaceIQ doesn't recognize that it needs to change, dramatically, to stay relevant.

Very intelligent, diverse, hard-working group. Company does try to invest in keeping a positive, collaborative culture.

Cons

Lack of transparency and increasingly negative outlook on business.
