Pros

The employees are good, hard-working people. Managers are fair, educated, quality supervisors.

Cons

1. Much lower pay than Master's level professionals deserve 2. Paperwork is not online - like everyone else in the universe. This is perhaps the worst part of the job. They JUST got email this year. 3. The Health benefits are WEAK. 4. There are no perks (no free gym memberships, no free food, drinks, work supplies, no restaurant discounts or other local business discounts). This is the job of the marketing department - they don't perform their duties for the employees - just for the CEO and Owner. 5. Not all employees are eligible for benefits :-( That's not fair. It does not feel right that your co-worker isn't insured when you see how hard they work 40+ hours a week. 6. Fee-for-service people have to work other jobs during the year to make a decent salary. 7. School based employees don't have income over the summer. There should be an option for them to have some sort of work (like therapeutic summer camps for SB clients). 8. The company does not keep the employees in the loop - the monthly magazine is lame. It seems like the administration doesn't have any creativity and initiative to create what needs to be done to keep this company moving forward. It's surviving on old ideas. What NEW can you do to offer us opportunity?

Ponessa Behavioral Health Response

Thank you for the feedback. We are committed to providing a fair and supportive environment for all our employees, so we are disappointed to hear about some of your responses. We value and consider all feedback and we will continue to find ways to improve, but we want to address a couple of your specific concerns. First, as we continue to grow, we continuously look for ways to improve employee compensation and benefits. We currently offer Voluntary Benefits to all full-time and part-time employees who work more than 15 hrs a week, these include; Short Term Disability, Life Insurance, Accident Insurance, Bridge or Hospital Confinement Insurance, and Long-Term Disability Insurance. We also offer Medical, Dental, and Vision Insurance, Paid Time Off, and Paid Holidays to full-time employees, after 90 days of employment. In addition, we have an Employee Perks Program that is available on our website, posted in the office and shared with every employee at the New Hire Trainings. The Employee Perks Program offers our employees discounts to local cafes, gyms, and yoga studios, by showing their employee badge. We do offer Licensure Supervision to any Master’s level clinician who is desirous of pursuing Licensure. Licensure could be as a LMFT, LPC, or LCSW. T.W. Ponessa & Associates is able to provide individual supervision and /or group supervision for the benefit of the supervisee, to obtain a License. School Based Mental Health clinicians are given the opportunity to continue working over the summer, since new clients are being referred every day, and taking the summer off is completely voluntary. Thanks again for your ongoing contribution and feedback.

Pros

Immediate supervisors listen to you if you need help or if you give feedback on an issue you are having. Work atmosphere is great; my coworkers are approachable and friendly. There are a lot of opportunities for career-improvement (for example, internships, supervision available, trainings).

Cons

A lot of administrative hoops to jump through if you want something (I think administration is receptive, but there is a long "chain of command" to get through until things get done; and by that time, the original request gets misconstrued). The building is not comfortable (lack of parking, small hot/cold offices without windows); and the systems (scheduling, etc.) are antiquated and break down unexpectedly and frequently. Pay is okay, but benefits aren't the greatest.
