Pros

Unlimited hours. It's literally so busy they will work you 7am to 1am if you let them. So if you need the money and don't have anything else going on its easy money.

Cons

Bad management Stingy 50% discount Terrible back breaking work They'll hire you as part time but you'll still get 40-70 hours per week They'll threaten to fire you if you miss work because you were sick Did I mention bad management? Management thinks you should get on your knees and thank them for letting you work there

Pros

Coworkers are normally pretty cool and friendly

Cons

As a former employee of Portillo's I can say that the managers at this location are trained poorly. They treat all of the employees still in high school with disrespect. They have made employees work sick on more than one occasion; the most recent being this last week. A friend of mine still employed there was working while with the flu and the management would not send him home. In turn my other friends that are still employed there have all been working while sick. One employee threw up three times and was coughing the entire night and the management still refused to send him home. As an employee, you are suppose to call in at least four hours in advance when calling off sick. Even when following protocol, employees are told that they cannot call off and need to come in; or that they are responsible for finding someone to cover their shift when int he handbook it states that the management will find someone to cover. With that being stated, the people who are making all of customers, beefs, hot dogs, burgers, salads, and fries have at some point been working while contagiously sick.

Teenager Job

Pros

For a teenager it was a pretty good way of bringing in some extra money. They hired me short term which is rare but it worked out well for a summer job.

Cons

The actual job is very strict and it required me to be outside all the day so at times when the weather was harsh it was a rough job. Everything else was smooth.
