Pros

Offer multiple activities and events that keep the workplace interested and fun. I do not wake up and think, "Damn I do not want to and hate going to work!" The services they offer their employees are great also. I love that I can get an oil change while sitting at my desk and we have a coffee bar inside!

Cons

Wish drip coffee was free in the morning.

Young Professionals DO NOT consider PV

Pros

Initially very welcoming. Nice facility, although, come on, it's in the back of the defunct Machesney Park Mall. Lunches are provided on occasion.

Cons

Practice Velocity is not a place for young professionals. Please do not be fooled by the attempt at appearing to have a "Google-like" atmosphere. The open space provides zero privacy of any kind. The pink noise that they pump in is annoying, distracting and physically hurts your ears. The chanting and dancing are real and are force-fed to the employees. It is true that if you do not participate daily, there will be negative consequences. The "culture" is "cult-like". Others have said it in their reviews. They are telling the truth. Employees are treated as children and not as true young professionals. Ideas and opinions are not openly accepted and are not considered, regardless of the replies from "People-Ops" saying otherwise. They know firsthand how many very talented and skilled people, including managers and leadership, are let go "at will" unfairly with no discussion and no option for rectifying any performance or behavioral problems (if there are any....which there usually isn't). There are many other wonderful companies to work for in Rockford and the surrounding area that will value and appreciate your skills, talent and hard work. There are companies that provide an open forum for discussing ideas and opinions. There are companies that provide a coaching/mentoring atmosphere that allow them to promote from within. Do not waste a minute of your time (or a year and a half like I did) on this company. Have far more respect for yourself than you will ever get at PV.
