Pros

Opportunity to transfer out of this location after a year. Decent Benefits, but not a benefits leader. They would be much better if pay was more reflective of expensive local area

Cons

Work center is very disorganized, high turnover, very toxic workcenter with high drama. Senior Techs typically only 4-5 years experience on engine platforms. Work life balance is not there, they make overtime difficult to come by, opening the door to more office politics and drama. Don’t sign a lease until you pass your 90 days, they brag about firing people days shy of hitting the number leaving people coming from out of state without funds or unemployment eligibility. I left for a different opportunity before my 90 days. Do not recommend.

Pros

Great place to start and learn but the company does not do a good job of promoting talent. It it left to you to try to go after bigger jobs and at times, the company culture will clash with motivated individuals looking to grow their careers.

Cons

Senior leadership is more concerned with holding their positions and growing their own careers to pay attention to to early to mid career employees. Dispute performance, promotions and few and far between. The culture of the company has degraded significantly over the last 5 years. People are less willing to help each other and more apt to throw arrows during meetings.

Pros

interesting work (at times). can get dull pretty quick though pretty good benefits. lot of time off, seperate bucket for sick time and pto from vacation great team support great starting pay (make sure you bargain hard) coworkers are pretty smart. honestly best part of the job are the coworkers. diversity & inclusion groups plenty of opportunities to travel for work - they pay for everything

Cons

poor pay raises. raises barely fight inflation terrible at giving promotions. had a coworker that had gone nearly 10 years for a promotion deserved at 5 years. managers flaunt how they got promoted every 2-3 years, but refuse to promote team members until 7-10 years in their current role. terrible career growth. you can't really branch out to different areas (directors want to keep you in their department and not let you leave). training budget gets smaller every year so they tell you to not take training to reduce overhead budget. terrible file management / tracking. pretty often you'll have to look back at work someone else did 2-5 years ago, and won't find anything, so you'll have to re-do all their work or take shortcuts. middletown ct has a big knowledge transfer issue. every team is separate (despite sitting next to each other) and very little communication among each other. many young engineers don't even know their own chief/technical experts in their department in middletown. east hartford is much better in this regard. work can get dull quickly. pressure from management to get something out the door even if its not right. team sometimes bullied/pressured into working unpaid overtime for months/years and sometimes weekends. executives rewarding themselves with multi million dollar bonuses but lays off thousands of employees. many employees raised ethical concerns, but management ignored them all. rumor majority of layoffs targeted people of color. company denies it but holds true to everyone i know that got laid off. cafeteria food is awful and overpriced. you'll sometimes get moved to a different office with no say. sometimes this cuts your commute by 30 mins, sometimes it adds 30 mins. cuts to benefits (especially the scholar program) with zero notice or grandfathering current employees into old program. MANY young engineers thought the company tricked them during their initial hiring because of this bait and switch. not me personally but many were left a very sour taste because of this and started looking for a new job.
