Pros

There are no professionals working in Dillon. PCC culture will drive the Dillon facility into the ground. General Electric Industrial Gas Turbine(IGT) machining and ultrasonic inspection has failed. It will continue to fail. Chemical Etch for GE turbine and IGT has failed. It will continue to fail. The heat treatment and structural components (landing gear/bulkhead/critical fracture Ti ) has no quality oversight. General manager fired/quit, Quality Manager resigned/left, metallurgist resigned/left, numerous quality engineer left/quit /resigned, DSQR quit/resigned. More resignations/firings to come. Wheels have come off the bus, there is no driver, the gas tank is on fire and they are going over a cliff. The weather is nice.

Cons

A hurricane hit the factory and a tornado set down less than 3 miles form Dillom

Don't See Improvement Any Time Soon

Pros

You are forced to learn a lot in this "sink or swim" environment. I've been given a lot of opportunities and pushed to succeed in a very short amount of time. The experience that you receive from PCC is really invaluable.

Cons

If you want work/life balance, this company is not for you. The direction the company is going, even with an impending Berkshire Hathaway acquisition, is not a good one. Our Division president micromanages facility management to the 'nth degree, and you are not given the tools to succeed. Our facility has an ERP that is archaic, and there is really no sight into implementation any time soon. The reporting requirements are the same for every single plant, no matter what the size. So a Finance department with a total of 3 people have the same reporting requirements as those plants with Finance departments with 12 people. The stress and pressure that is put on facility management is remarkable. Corporate does not even try to make a difference at the plant level and leaves all responsibility with the Division managers, who sit in their chairs and pass edicts via email. I'm very surprised there haven't been more legal claims or settlements based on how the plant-level managers are treated and pushed to make a line. The pressures that facility personnel receive can unfortunately lead to unethical behavior.

Great Salary and Benefits but...

Pros

They have great benefits and salary, but be prepared to work a lot of overtime. It you have a family with lots of extra activities going on after work, be ready to miss a lot of these activities.

Cons

They expect you to give a lot of your time away from family. It is made clear before you start that this is expected, so be prepared.
