Pros

Decent wages and benefits, some opportunity for advancement if you are willing to play the game.

Cons

High pressure, high turnover work environment, especially in mid-to-upper management. Little or no loyalty to employees. Experience and length of service count for nothing, attitude is "what have you done for me today?" Toxic, highly political work environment.

Pros

The general workers were positive and friendly and the work had meaning since it was aerospace.

Cons

The amount of red tape was ridiculous, silos where everywhere and IT was given too much power over information. Doing any group project required IT and lots of money to pay them just so we can share data.

Pros

Great pay. Great benefits. A decent amount of autonomy.

Cons

Super HIGH turnover in mid level manager and other salaried employee positions due to the poor climate and culture put forth by upper management. This turnover has even hit upper management somewhat as well with the facility's general manager being changed out two or three times in the last five years. The bottom line is bar none the most important thing there and second to it is placating to the the unions. Speaking of, the IAM union employees are some of the most lazy, apathetic, and insolent human beings on the planet. The good ones are few and far between. Just recently their contract was renegotiated and the union is guaranteed a pay raise every year for the next three years with more time off. It's disgusting. Decisions are made haphazardly and hastily and the trickle down affect kills morale. Employees are promoted either by staying around long enough (not very long at all) to see those above them leave the company or by having an "in" with upper management (ie. they followed someone over from another company) despite however inexperienced and ignorant of the job they are.
