      Pros

      Overall good benefits and compensation is competitive. Telecommuting opportunities for some positions.

      Cons

      Management lacks organization and focus in their initiatives at times. What you work on or who you work for can change at any moment and there isn't much discussion about it. People disappear into thin air as there have been many lay offs. Salary increases are very low so even if you come in at a decent salary, don't expect it to keep up with the cost of living and that is a problem. Not many opportunities for promotion or growth. Some real problems in the culture of the management. Although there are some professional and nice people, there are managers that exhibit abusive behavior. Bottom line is: Premera was once a great company to work for but leadership has changed and the company is losing a lot of money. They will likely sell and whenever that happens, companies begin to scramble in their initiatives - it is clear that this is what it happening.

      Pros

      Excellent upper management staff, you are treated like an adult and are given responsibilities accordingly. The company has a great set of core values that they live by. They offer annual raises and outstanding benefits. There's a lot of room for growth.

      Cons

      Internal departments need to communicate more often and provide updates for when things change. Policies need to be reviewed before they are filed to make sure they truly need to be there. Upper management spending too much time in meetings.

      Good Salary, Bad Culture

      Pros

      Salary is high/higher than other companies, there is a lot of opportunity for advancement (if you play the game right), good pockets of colleagues

      Cons

      There is a lot of folks who have been at the company for 20-30 years and are resistant to change, it's difficult to move projects forward due to siloing and bureaucracy, they seem to be cutting more and more benefits
