Pros

I will start by saying this used to be a great company and I was proud to say I worked for them. Now I am disgusted and saddened by the decisions our leaders have been making. I would say the only good thing about working for Premera is that the benefits like health insurance and 401(k)? There really is no job security though. Not to mention now that most of operations is outsourced the few that have been kept on as full-time employees have more and more work piled on to them without any extra pay. There really is no morale as there was before more like for those that are still employed. It is like dog eat dog and I think everyone is just trying to not be the next person let go.

Cons

Because of the outsourcing and Ramirez focus changing from our customers the members and providers to a bottom line number. It is really our members and providers who are suffering, as well as all the employees. It is just disgusting how we are abusing the outsourced employees by piling on more and more work and expecting good results. What are CEOs are actually doing is quite the opposite of what they say. Our goals and values are.

Pros

Easy interview process Good benefits Good pay The training was probably the best part about the job. It was about two months of paid training and a work from home position(I am based on Texas) and it was pretty fun some times getting to know my peers virtually. The pay was a good starting rate of $22 per hour. Though apparently the start rate varied a little bit based on your experience. Working remotely was a nice benefit as well.

Cons

Lack of guidance after training Micro-managing Heavily metric based Does not appreciate positive personalities My main issue with this company, at least for my role there was it was somewhat micro-managing. Our lunches was 30 minutes if I recall with two 15 minute breaks, That is not enough mental breaks for the caliber of customers we have to deal with daily, If you put your "away" status on for longer than 5 minutes, best believe you will get that ping on teams asking "is everything alright?" which obviously its nerve wracking when you just need a moment away from the constant calls. I don't know if it was just during my time there that is was unbearably busy, as I do keep in contact with some fellow former csr's from there who tell me that its not as bad as it was when we first started.

Pros

The pay was one of the better things about the job. If you’re in it for more money, this could work for you.

Cons

The management team seemed more concerned about numbers and selling a service than providing quality assistance to patients.
