Pros

The company is growing rapidly by purchasing other AT&T Authorized Retailers and jumping at the opportunities AT&T extends to them. Therefore, it is a company one can “move up the ladder” quickly.

Cons

Where to begin? This company’s management does not care about its employees. Make no mistake. Employees are fired with little notice or awareness of how dire their performance has to improve. There’s always going to be underperforming employees, that’s life. But, these employees deserve a little more warning before the axe is dropped. Furthermore, this company will end your employment even when you give proper notice. I gave a professional, deserving two weeks notice and I was dismissed one week early, only because I gave a resignation notice. That’s was fine with me, but goes to show how crude, ungrateful, despicable this company truly is. Management brags about how much money you can make there, but that’s few and far between. Even their view of “making money” isn’t very good. Making a lot money to them is $50k. In most areas of the country, that’s OK or average at best. I formerly worked for corporate AT&T as a selling rep and made that much, while making much less as a store manager at Prime. Busier stores will have a greater opportunity to make more commissions, naturally. If they’re promising more than $40k, you better ask some other workers at that store and be aware they are probably painting a dishonest picture, a picture that they are wishing for but doesn’t come true in most stores. Do not spend your own money on anything believing that you will be reimbursed for it. It will not happen. This company drags its feet when it comes to actually paying anybody. It took my local store’s borough to nearly lock the store’s doors and keep it closed for business before this company paid a measly $45 for the business application fee. Prime is very tight fisted with its money, and there is nothing wrong with that. But it doesn’t truly care about its employees’ money. Speaking for which, I was never paid commission that was promised upon hiring. Several former employees were never paid commissions they rightfully earned. They haven’t been sued only because the dollar amounts don’t justify the suit. Training is a joke. If I hadn’t worked at AT&T COR prior to this position, I could see myself not truly knowing the answers to better serve customers for a number of months. If you want to work for company with professionalism and integrity, this is not it. If you want to go into wireless retail, try to get a job at a corporate store, if available and able. You will be rewarded much better with pay structure and benefits.

Pros

Coworkers are great, as long as you have a good team, work life is bearable Great contests but only few winners

Cons

No balance between work life and personal life. Executives and owners dont realize how important this is for the field. Unrealistic expectations, especially for remote stores. No sales are blamed on the staff. Staff is then reviewed and fired after 2 to 3 months of low performance Base pay is so low its insulting Poor communication on all levels Policies are created almost what seems to be weekly. Seems as if they create a policy and never communicate it properly between all channels, and never think of how the policy will impact in the future. No appreciation for hard work. All they want to recognize is the people who make the money, but the manager that has to work 5 days straight because their entire crew quit not.

Rewarding Experience with Growth

Pros

I have worked for several AT&T retailers and Prime is clearly the best and most professional. Successful salespeople and managers are rewarded for good performance, and the company offers good opportunity for growth and promotion. Executive team and owners are very professional, and the environment in our stores improved dramatically in our store after Prime Communications purchased it from a previous owner. District managers have a lot of experience in wireless and retail.

Cons

If you do not want to be in retail sales, this job is probably not for you. For those who enjoy sales and earning commissions to boost their pay, this offers a very good opportunity.
