For a "People First" Company, they sure abuse their employees.

Pros

Pay was good, at or above market for most roles.

Cons

C-Suite was a revolving door. No one could trust the rapid changes in the temperament of the CEO. Lay-offs were super common, and people were constantly looking for other jobs out of fear of random lay-offs. Random, far reaching changes were constantly made out of nowhere, no one felt safe during my entire tenure. Total lack of accountability every step of the way, especially from the CEO,

I had such high hopes.

Pros

Excellent salary, all health insurance premiums paid by company. Excellent holidays.

Cons

The communication is terrible. In July we were told no layoffs were anticipated the company finances were in a good space. Our September communications day was cancelled. Thursday morning a vague and ominous email went out. The next two days were filled with people being laid off one at a time effective immediately. I was laid off with no warning, nor was my manager informed prior. For a company that has been talking about transparency and communications being so important, this was a complete fail.

Pros

ProbablyMonsters used to pay well and have very generous policies. It was a place where you could connect with great developers and have fun creating games.

Cons

Unfortunately, this place has turned into a fear-filled hell-hole where employees are now just collecting a paycheck in silence waiting for the company to shut down. Recruiting is shameless in spinning fantasy stories about what a "great, people-first culture" ProbablyMonsters is. Don't be fooled. This place abuses employees and tramples on their dignity. HR & Leadership in general are petty and vindictive, firing anyone who disagrees or voices minimal concerns with their decisions. The CEO only listens to his talentless friends and insists no one report to him. How on earth do you have a CEO with no reports??? What value do you bring?
