Every person deserves to work at a Company like Professional at least once in their life! The culture, the people, the promotions, recognition, benefits, and rewards all outpace other companies I have worked for in the past. Professional values those employees that work hard, with a play hard mentality and is evidenced by their commitment to rapid promotions and advancement along with outstanding compensation and incentive plans. Their culture is embodied from the top down and their commitment to charitable endeavors and philanthropy as part of their overall mission should excite any prospective employee who wants to work with a Company that gives back! Witness the Company sponsored social outings and you'll understand why the culture of the Company is so great Anybody interested in office politics need not apply; those willing to show us what you got - get on our bus! Ask anybody who works at Professional whether they would do it again and you'll get a resounding "YES!" every time! Go to one clinic, just once, and see for yourself; the energy!

Cons

All-in-all the Company strives to be proactive in making sure employees enjoy their job and are moving their personal goals and career forward. No cons to speak of but you can't please everyone (although Professional tries!) so I'll leave it to those detractors to make something up.

Pros

Professional has an exceptional family feel. You really feel like you're a part of something while you're there -- if you choose to make it so and be involved. There were a lot of company-wide activities throughout the year - such as bowling, Cycle for Survival, baseball game outings - that made the growing company feel close. Despite the large influx of acquisitions in the past year or two, outstanding patient care has (seemingly) remained at the core of the company's values and mission, and you can really see that reflected in the work done by every department.

Cons

Upper management usually does not have proper management-specific training before being promoted to that position, so they often lack the knowledge and resources to succeed in such a role. Despite this, they are still always protected by the partners. At the end of each year, along with employee reviews, there should be counter-reviews performed for each manager as a method of checks-and-balances. That way, the company's staff can improve as a whole, and the top-tier management can see where they might need to reassess someone's title or management style. Office politics should not get in the way of retaining quality staff and cutting those that can't perform to a high level or who misuse their title.

I cannot think of any positives working here. It was great in the beginning, but now it's a pain to go to work.

Cons

Starting pay is about $10k less than average for position. The company will promise "hard work pays off" but fails to deliver unless you work your regular full time shift and then cover as many athletic events for them. I've watched the receptionist overbook the schedule to a point where there are four patients booked in a single time slot, which are in 20 minute increments (7am, 7:20am, 7:40am etc) and their reasoning is that they were told by higher ups "whatever time the patients want, put them in no matter what". On top of an overbooked schedule, patients just walk in whenever they please without an appointment. When you have 5 patients sitting with heat AFTER they have completed their rehab just waiting for the PT to see them, how is that good business? I have also heard the phrase "back date" more than I probably should in a healthcare field in terms of prescription and insurance authorization.
