Pros

Great company to start with fresh out of college. Teaches you a lot of intangible skills that a lot of companies can't. Better starting pay than most entry level positions.

Cons

Where to start...very old school product, selling style and management style. It begins to feel more like telemarketing than a real sales job. Owner/CEO is ridiculous. Micro-management...that's an understatement. Everyone micro manages everyone. You're selling a product that A.) is dying..B.) you can't prove it works or even if they're actually selling it at the games or not. The company won't give you any data or information to help you sell the product better, probably because the data isn't great at all. They'll run you into the ground, de-incentivize you but expect you to make results, and then once you are done take your leads and never pay you. The commission structure is a joke too. And no room for growth at all.

Pros

- good pay out of college - working in sports is cool

Cons

- this job is literally sitting at a desk for 8 hours a day and cold calling businesses to sell advertising in sports publications. It quickly made me hate my life. I don't understand how anyone could actually do this for more than a few days without wanting to jump off of a mountain top. Sitting at my desk I realized I'd rather be digging ditches with people who don't speak English than spend another minute cold calling business in South Philly or wherever the project you get is in. But hey that's just me.

Pros

Good pay when you are getting out of college and living with your parents

Cons

First of all, their sales pitch is full of seedy language that leads people to believe you are with the university or team when you have no relationship whatsoever. They also promise all these opportunities for raises and incentives when its simply not true. They take money out of your sales number for tickets, which slows your progress towards commission, which takes 2 years to get to. They also offer great weekly incentives, which are selling over 12k in a week, and getting a $100 gift card. That comes out to less than one percent commission. That's not how sales jobs work. The managers have their favorites and they are compensated better than people they are pushing out the door. Nobody works here longer than a year because they realize how poorly run this company is. Also, managers talk down to their employees and treat them like they are children. That's not how effective companies are ran. They complain about you being a minute late, but the boss misses at least one day a week.

Thank you for your feedback. We are sorry to hear you did not enjoy your time at PSP. It's unfortunate you felt the compensation was inadequate. We routinely receive feedback that our compensation is well above industry standards. Our high base pay as opposed to straight commission and/or a low base salary, which are very common, is generally very popular with employees. That said, total compensation is always based on performance/sales and has nothing to do with managers' "favorites." Your claim that no one works here longer than a year is wildly inaccurate. Our track record for retention speaks for itself. We are comprised of mostly long-tenured staff who love the pay, the people and the culture. Again, we are sorry to hear you did not share their experience.
