Pros

I have nothing good to say

Cons

they prey on fresh grads who are looking to make money and live in NYC, they will fire you without a moments notice or care and it has NOTHING to do with your performance. Terrible awful company who doesn't care about their employees or anything besides money. RUN RUN RUN

Pros

Sort of decent pay for someone right out of college.

Cons

The main issue with this company is that the product you are selling does not help businesses, and often times it does not even get distributed. At Psp you are in charge of selling print advertisements into publications that are supposed to be distributed sports games. The problem with this is that you quickly learn that the publications that your clients are spending thousands of dollars on often times do not get printed/ have a one or two game shelf life. This is because Psp has no control over the print or distribution of these publications, they simply sell ads. So, for whatever reason what often ends up happening is the team that you are selling ads for doesn't end up printing the book at all, or they just release the book at one or two games. Even if the book does get printed and has a decent shelf life (which is almost never), you are still selling thousand dollar ads into print books to small business that never see a return on the advertisement. This is made clear when you work for Psp because you will be constantly receiving complaints from clients about how they went to multiple games and they never saw the publications, or they will complain how they never got any business from the publications. For example many clients will want to put a QR code in their advertisement. Management will try to dissuade you from allowing your clients to put the QR codes in the ads because they know that If the company has the ability to track their return on the investment, there is a 0% chance that they will be a happy client. This is because there is no return on investment for what your selling and everyone in the company knows it. To further back up this point PSP refuses to give you print/ distribution numbers for any of the books that you are selling ads into. For those who don't know, now a days everyone who sells advertisements generally has some idea of the reach of the ads they sell (like how many publications are printed). PSP refuses to give you these numbers presumably because they are such bad numbers that it would hurt your ability to sell the product. All in all this is a company that is hanging on by the skin of its teeth by selling an outdated and expensive product to small businesses who don't know any better. If you sell ads for this company you will 100% realize that you and your coworkers are scamming people for a 55k a year salary. Every single employee at Psp knows this and would have no problem telling you so. Throughout my time at Psp almost every coworker of mine consistently expressed feelings of being a "scam artist". This feeling is inevitable at Psp because you and those around you are receiving non stop complaints from clients because you sold them a product that without a doubt hurt their business.

It is often said that there are lies and then there are damn lies. It is extremely unfortunate that someone would use an anonymous platform to spread an easily refutable lie about our company. We are a publisher for college and professional sports teams for their official publications under contract with those entities. What the writer of the anonymous post would have you believe is that these publications are either never produced or produced for only a game or two. This can be refuted very easily by contacting any of the teams or colleges for confirmation. There is really nothing else to say here.

Pros

They told me to leave a “good”review the day I left, so here you go. No pros.

Cons

Cult! Micro-managing, no freedom, constant uncomfortable feeling, you’re being watched and listened to. They have a weird system in place and live by it like it’s the Bible. You are there to call 250 people a day because the law of averages says 2 out of the 250 will buy a Crappy ad with no return on investment. I callus not believe how they ran things there. It’s a really crappy feeling, you are being paid to scam people.

This review contains a number of objectively false or incorrect information. First, we did not ask this person to leave a review. We have had from time to time employees tell us they think some posted reviews are unfair and inaccurate. In those cases, we mention that they might want to share a review explaining their own experience. However, there is no pressure or demand to do so. Second, we have agreements with hundreds of professional sports teams and college athletic departments that can be confirmed objectively without much inquiry. The ads we sell are legit. There is no "scam" and the fact that we have been in business for more than 30 years should make that clear. There is absolutely no data to support that 2 companies out of every 250 purchase ads - this claim was also completely fabricated. Third, we are straightforward with potential and current employees that this is a difficult job and that they will be on the phone all day. That said, we have hundreds of long term employees who have made this a very successful career. The job is undeniably difficult and it takes effort to become successful at it. It is not for everyone. However, if you are successful you will find the life-work balance is great as well as the compensation. We have great commission, monthly incentives and trip incentives (for example, a large group just came back from a company-paid incentive trip to New Orleans).
