Pros

-Gainshare -401K match -PTO is outstanding -Great coaches and management staff -Remote positions -Pay increases I’ve been with Progressive for almost a year in sales. The phones are rough. Stressful. People can be straight up mean on a daily basis. But if you work hard, you can consistently make monthly sales bonuses. I’ve had four raises since I started and although I get stressed about the back-to-back calls, I have an awesome boss who is super supportive and encouraging that there’s light at the end of the tunnel! They give you the best training to prepare you to take your insurance exam and never want you to work off the clock. That’s huge to me. During training, they hook you up with a personal coach, who helps you perfect your calls along the way. Even though I felt thrown to the wolves after training, everything clicked shortly after. And I never felt abandoned by my coach or manager. As I stated earlier, you have to work HARD. This job is not meant for the weak or someone who doesn’t have good work ethic. Also, they give you a lot of PTO and as long as you have it, you’re almost approved every time, unless it’s a busy day or a blitz (projected busy) day.

Cons

-Performance based scheduling -Holidays -5 second break in between calls -Stress The pro’s more than outweigh the con’s. Yes, I’ve been totally stressed out some days. Yes, I hate that I can barely take a sip of water in between calls. My schedule is pretty awful and I hate working Saturdays but I’ve worked hard and I’m looking forward to improving that in the near future. I had to work Thanksgiving and Christmas last year because my training ended shortly before and I had to fulfill my 8 hour requirement, but I was able to split the days into two 4 hour shifts. This year, sales consultants are required to put in 12 hours of Holiday time but no biggie. Knock that out with holidays like MLK Day and Memorial Day and you won’t have to worry about the big ones.

Pros

The company tries to keep people happy... lots of programs to encourage people to stick around.

Cons

It's a large company, so change can be slow, and right now with the hot job market particularly for cloud, they're not current enough on salary.
