Extreme Burnout Culture/ Leadership Struggles

Pros

Great people who really care about clients and give their all. Employees will do anything for their clients. Good manager who tried. A lot of opportunity to grow and learn if you are willing to work hard and take chances.

Cons

Behind in technology and playing catch-up, but misfiring for clients and employees working harder not smarter. Extreme burnout and employees are looking for a lifeline. A lot of feedback given but no real solutions, despite managers trying - comes from the top. Employees need to be given resources to do their jobs and trained to do their jobs. Inconsistent in standards of employees hired and rewarded.

Pros

Free food and open bar at most company events, free breakfast every week, unlimited free soft drinks, free beer and pizza at monthly meetings, extravagant annual retreats, fancy office space. Build good relationships with the right people in the company and you can get away with anything.

Cons

A lot of emphasis is placed on attending company events and participation in extra curricular activities. This is on top of all the time you are forced to spend at work because there's a constant expectation for you to do more with less. Lots of stress for top performers to pick up the slack for under qualified people who are there because of politics. Not very many holidays are observed. Vacation time is generous but you rarely get to take time off due to the workload. Managers have no clue what their employees do so they can't do much to support their own people. Most people work like drones and only know how to do exactly what they are told and can't think for themselves.
