ProService Hawaii is not a great place to work

Pros

Good coworkers looking for a career

Cons

Everything else. Poor leadership and unhelpful HR. Sexual harassment complaints and illegal workplace discrimination will fall on deaf ears with HR, in an HR company! So much turnover and push to add more clients than they can service. Employees complain about being underpaid and overworked, working 16 hours a day and weekends. Average 3-4 per week up to 16 employees per month quitting the company. They will make stuff up to cover for their bad reputation and poor leadership. Leadership puts fear on the employees. HR department and managers are scared to speak up to do the right thing. Employees can’t go to HR in fear they will get punished or lose their job. Disappointed and appalled in the leadership how they treat their good employees who work hard. They condone drinking, partying and join their “cult” like behavior. They want to be perceived as “Best Places to Work” with high “Core Values” but can’t deliver on the promises to their own internal employees and clients. They think they are above the law because they’re an HR company. Employees of client companies not being helped with sexual harassment/HR issues because of relationship with top level executives at company’s being told issues will be swept under the rug. Team witness leadership yelling and swearing at managers, high turnover in leadership, HR department and leadership condoning sexual harassment by allowing managers to have sexual relationships within their department, managers harassing team members, illegal workplace discrimination and favoritism by the leadership. Lack of trust in the CEO and leadership. The moment you speak up, you will be a target.

Pros

They offer free soft drinks and snacks.

Cons

Literally everything else Executive team leadership is non-existent The pay is low and they have no career advancement opportunities Half of the projects you work on will never see the light of day Politics run the organization - Your skill level and expertise mean nothing Management style is top-down, keep the foot on the neck of the employees and make them feel as inferior as possible Despite your expertise, you will be tasked with jobs that have nothing to do with your career. They frame it as "Pro First" but in reality they're cheap and don't want to hire additional people They refuse to invest in technology, instead demanding employees work twice as hard and inefficiently They sacrifice good service for growth and take on more clients than they can handle Fire drills are a daily norm, you never get to do your actual job Quarterly planning takes a month and it happens every quarter. You will be overworked until you're no longer useful then tossed aside

We strive to be open and transparent in our decision making, priority setting and communication, but there is always room to improve. No work life balance; zero support from leadership; so much turnover

Pros

There are some great people at ProService but none of them are really in leadership positions. So many positive experiences with other members of the ProHana but (at least) twice as many negative ones with leadership.

Cons

ZERO work life balance Management does not listen to the employees they "say" they care and want feedback but the same feedback is given time and again and nothing is ever done Management does not stay (I think we have basically had a complete turn over at the executive level every year for the past 5 years) and the directors come and go as well Managers blatantly play favorites across the organization They are constantly launching new, time consuming, initiatives and then rarely follow-through with them so you put a lot of time and effort into something that gets discarded a few months later (this probably has a lot to do with leadership turn over because when new leaders come in then things change) Technology and systems are HORRIBLE; 9 times out of 10 they make your job more difficult and time consuming
