Horrible work environment

Pros

Since the QXO acquisition, that culture has deteriorated significantly. The environment feels cold and hierarchical, and many of us from the Beacon team are struggling to find our place in the new structure. The approach to leadership and decision-making now feels top-down and unapproachable, with a culture that seems to center around unwavering deference to the CEO, rather than open collaboration or innovation. Morale has declined, and what once felt like a mission-driven team now feels like a fragmented organization with little room for differing perspectives. We’ve lost much of what made Beacon special.

Cons

Beacon was an incredibly well-run organization with a collaborative, effective culture. Unfortunately, after the QXO acquisition, many of the changes implemented have felt arbitrary and out of step with industry best practices. There’s been a shift toward working harder rather than smarter, with little regard for employee well-being or operational efficiency. Many of the new structures and decisions seem to disregard what was already working — a classic case of 'fixing what wasn’t broken.' Morale has plummeted, and the environment has become rigid, top-down, and discouraging. If you're considering joining, think carefully. The current culture does not support innovation or genuine collaboration. Proceed with caution

Pros

Not much can say on the positive side. Once QXO acquired Beacon Building Products.

Cons

Prior to the acquisition by QXO of Beacon Building Products. Always felt a sense of belonging and that under our former CEO's guidance we had a solid direction and foundation of steady growth. The "Hostile" takeover in April has change that dynamic. We are no longer comfortable, and everyone that I deal with are all actively looking for new opportunities. It can be stated well we are growing and moving forward. Have seen since April two rounds of "Reorganizational Layoffs" of key members of the organization. It's terrifying. Brad maybe trying to grown the organization and turn it into a powerhouse. But do not see the positive results on the People Side. Really thought was going to spend my career with the organization. Now it's time to leave and I'm not alone. So, if your looking for opportunities within QXO. Be very cautious and when interviewing at at Branch level or Corporate would recommend discussing recent layoffs and long term opportunities. Now we are in a "Bidding" war for a drywall company. Heaven help those folks. Ya the investors may reap short term rewards but for a long-term growth. Not seeing it.

Pros

Compensation can be good. Company is investing in more technology and systems that will help operations. Brad has a clear vision of where he wants to take the company.

Cons

While there is a significant amount of investment in technology company culture has deteriorated significantly from the Beacon days. The C level team needs to emulate Brads passion for the business and the people. Especially in Supply Chain.
