Pros

Quanta Services does provide free lunches during quarterly close. They also have 10-20% bonuses for most roles or positions.

Cons

Quanta Services will work employees on holidays, weekends, and late into the evenings. Parking spots in the Williams Tower Parking Garage are difficult to find since maximum capacity has been reached (except for the reserved parking spots). If you are working a late shift, you will have to park in the Galleria Mall Parking Garage (if you can find a spot there). There is no flexibility to work remotely/virtually or flex schedules. PTO does not carry over to the next year. If you do not use it, you lose it. They move employees up from two weeks of vacation to three weeks of vacation after 10 years of service. The waiting period for the 401k is one year. There are not any structured career paths or any opportunity for advancement.

Good Pay, Good Frontline Culture, Lack of Corporate Leadership

Pros

The company cares about the safety of its line workers and strives to improve safety within both the company and the industry. Quanta also pays well and offers good long term incentives.

Cons

The cons are related to the corporate office, specifically IT services. There's a lack of leadership here at the executive level, and so all sorts of behavior is tolerated from IT leaders. I've seen bullying, a manager openly disparaging their team, name calling, threats, etc. I've seen adults cry here. That said, there are some good leaders here, too. There's just no real oversight or accountability for the bad actors. So, for those interviewing, I wouldn't necessarily avoid Quanta, but I'd take a serious gut check of your potential manager, don't dismiss any red flags, and don't get hung up on the pay. Once hired, you'll be working under someone who has virtually no checks on their behavior, while you'll have very little recourse in return.

Could be a good company to work for....

Pros

Many nice, smart people to work with; flexible hours to an extent; relaxed culture - I'm really struggling here for any additional pros.

Cons

No consistency to comp or PTO; high turnover; highly manual processes, and no interest in using core or common systems; lack of controls in many departments; during the interview process it is suggested the company wants to change some of these things, but this is not true as most people see once they start working here; any change must be driven from the top down, and it does not appear as if there is a desire to do so. Company vision not clear; lack of a basic structure and consistency.
