Pros

In the recent company picnic, they brought out Hollywood celerities to entertain us.

Cons

I have been in the industry for 17 years and havent seen a company as nepotist as Quixey. Its a joyride. They are spending crazy on expensive picnics, almost twice a month off-sites in expensive hotels, fancy conference rooms, onsite gym, yoga, the list is endless. This isnt even attracting any top talent. The best we have been able to recruit so far is the Web 1.0 Yahoo/eBay crowd. Hence, a data driven culture is completely absent. The roster is full of 'operations' people outside of product and engineering disciplines. We have an "events coordinator", along with his own personal assistant !?! There are 4 admins for the execs. The total search engineering team is a small fraction of the company. This, in a search company that publicly boasts 200 people. On the other hand, the product simply does not exist. Have you ever heard of our app called Quixey???? The founders created the company in 2009. Its been 6 years and even today the number of organic users are less than the number of employees in the company. They have inserted their best friends into each team and the head of each team makes sure to stay on good terms with that guy/gal who is reporting to them. The same group of friends band together in and outside of work. The CEO rented a Caribbean island for Christmas and flew them out on vacation. Some of those dropouts have messed up major deals with high profile device manufacturers and have now gotten promoted. There is simply no pressure or stress to deliver. We have so many team lunches and events, I never feel tired in the evening due to work but because of all the physical activities we do.

Pros

nothing new to say here, nice people, fun , great location, good for new graduates and interns

Cons

If you're an experienced professional, the 5 star reviews and marketing efforts don't fool anyone. Unlike other companies with substance, Quixey puts a lot of effort into making everything shiny, impressive and full of bling. But, if there's substance, there's no need to counter with rave reviews and marketing fluff. The recent announcements are not press releases. A seasoned professional can see through the self promotions. it's publicly stated from this Senior person at the Ad Tech company that it's still in EARLY STAGES. That BLOG is NOT a press release and neither are the other announcements. What I state here, is public. At Quixey it's all about fragmentation, self promotion, nepotism and marketing fluff.

Pros

Quixey offers a lot of activities to keep up morale, free snacks, free meals, free drinks, free shirts, health insurance, dental, 401K, game room, gym and other perks to help employees have a 'balanced' life . Quixey has some high caliber employees and nice people. i thought this was the coolest company ever and the vision was unlike what other similar app search companies were trying to accomplish.

Cons

The company started over 5 years ago and after 4 rounds of funding, still struggles with a product. The person hired to define a product originally, was promoted into a role that isn't their strength. The individual that came after, is supposed to take what engineering has and mold it into what Quixey can offer today to customers. So where are we today? Executives must not care otherwise why would they continue to ignore this problem and why do they have employees in charge of these groups. What is the management style? In some groups, its suffocation, control and threats . Its heard across floors and seen.
