In need of a change...

Pros

Some fun people and the parties are good.

Cons

Most of the senior management team is operating on his or her own agenda and the HR department is no help. It is such a shame that employees have nowhere to turn if they have an issue or need guidance and I think it is a bad sign when the HR department has the highest turnover of all of the departments. Poor performers skate by and those that keep their head down and do their job are not recognized unless they are on a "winning" account.

Nothing but nepotism

Pros

Some great people, most are very knowledgeable and good at what they do.

Cons

Zero opportunity for career advancement, unless you're best friends with a VP or married to them. Nothing but nepotism here, I've witnessed two horrible cases where both hires were friends or married to people within the agency. They were hired into high managerial roles and were very bad at every aspect required of their role. People below them were more qualified which prevents those lower roles from moving up and learning. These new hires receive bonus's, early mid-year promotions/raises, and awards after being at the company for less than one year. This place is all about corporate politics. There are a lot of lifers there, that have been there a long time simply coasting, they show up everyday and get a paycheck but they are not responsible for producing any client facing work. There are people that make it there long enough to simply dump all of their responsibilities on the person directly beneath them. There is no culture here and the office looks like a doctors exam room, void of any life. This place tends to be fairly sexist as a lot of the women here are not promoted as quickly as men. Some have been there 7 years only being promoted once. Others 3 years no promotion at all. Perhaps you are on another less glamorous account you will not be promoted unless you are on an award winning high profile account. None of the execs will know who you are or what you do if you aren't winning awards making them look good. You will work all the time and you will not be recognized for that hard work. There is no work life balance. You are expected to work late even when you have finished your work.
