Pros

I had a very flexible schedule. I was told I could work remotely but that did not pan out.

Cons

They are individually owned so nothing against RE/MAX but my boss was crazy! Wanted you to be able to do EVERYTHING for NOTHING

Pros

Being a RE/MAX agent truly does come with the strongest brand recognition in the real estate industry. When I first started, I was skeptical whether or not brand recognition was all that important, but after 4 years as an Associate Broker I can tell you without a doubt that buyers and sellers would prefer to work with a reputable brokerage. And there isn't a more recognizable name in real estate than RE/MAX.

Cons

I work for a smaller RE/MAX franchise, and when I started I was disappointed with the lack of training programs available to help me get on my feet. As with most real estate licensing programs, they really teach you how not to get sued and how to protect the consumer. Which is great! But that means when you select a brokerage to hang your license at, its important to either have a great mentor/managing broker, or be sure that the brokerage offers training programs that will help you gain confidence and applicable knowledge.
