Profit Sharing, Great HR Team, Active Employee Resource Groups paying attention to social justice issues, salary, well organized and supportive

Cons

Flexible work schedule hard to achieve; expected to be in office strict hours despite work being very independent.

We have a lot of good things going for us including our attention to social justice and our commitment to providing a comprehensive compensation and benefits package. Returning to the office has been a challenge. We’re trying to balance flexibility with the advantages of being together (an impromptu happy hour, stopping by someone’s office to chitchat, etc.). Thanks for your patience and sharing your thoughts as we continue to navigate COVID-19 and returning to an office.

Raftelis is a values-driven organization with great people, engaging projects, and extensive opportunities for personal and professional growth. Management is committed to transparency, particularly related to company performance and COVID-related challenges. The firm has made a concerted effort to address diversity and inclusion issues and is actively engaged in maintaining a positive and productive organizational culture.

Cons

Like any management consulting gig, there can be long hours and a fair amount of travel. While the compensation is competitive, in some functional areas the bonus structure is linked to individual sales and utilization targets. This can lead to a myopic approach to business and staff development. When individuals are focused on optimizing their own performance against these targets, they can overlook broader opportunities for the firm and their teams.

We have done a lot of work in the last year related to diversity, equity, and inclusion (DEI) including but not limited to establishing a DEI Resource Group and an Anti-Racism Discussion Group, launching a Mentoring Program, and conducting an internal recruitment assessment to ensure our talent acquisition process is fair, consistent, and free of bias. We still have a lot more work to do. Your comments regarding individual targets vs. broader opportunities for the firm are insightful. The most positive impact we can have on our clients and the communities they serve is to draw on the diverse background, experience, and expertise of all of our employees. The work can be monotonous.
