Not that Bad

Pros

Guess it could be worse, I could be in prison, a solitary cell for 23 hours a day. Well, maybe it can’t get worse.

Cons

This is by far the worst job I’ve ever had. I won’t spend a bunch of time telling you how bad the company is, just leave you with this. If you’re asked to leave a good review to offset the bad ones, that’s enough said. Also for those reading, if your company has to generate a canned response to negative feedback, which will be done here as well, something is not right.

Pros

Good money, good people, good managers

Cons

Horrible incentive to work 12-16 hours a day, and only get .77 hours a week for “PTO”. Which equals out to just 40 hours a year. Get rid of it, go to vacation time based on years of service. Medical insurance is terrible. No employee out in the field should ever have to pay 4000 dollars out of pocket for a deductible. You want to keep up with the class 1’s and attract them, you need to pay the medical. Increase base hourly, we all know how much you charge…. You can afford it… Not following labor laws, especially in California and New York…. DEI…. Quit shoving it down every single employees throat. It doesn’t work.. I’m a minority, and I certainly don’t approve of it. If you’re qualified, then you’re qualified.

Thank you for taking the time to share your experience. We appreciate your feedback and the work you did during your time with RailPros. We do want to clarify that RailPros doesn’t employ locomotive engineers, so it’s possible this review may have been intended for another company. That said, we always welcome feedback about things like pay, benefits, and work-life balance - it’s how we continue to get better. We’re proud of the dedicated people who make RailPros what it is and are continually working to improve the employee experience. We wish you the very best in your future endeavors and thank you again for sharing your thoughts.
