Pros

Work is ok if you can do outdoor work in most weather. They do advance you in pay as time goes on, and often dont work in the rain, which is nice. This and other things do depend on the foreman though. They do provide housing on travel assignments. Can work up to foreman with time and reasonable effort. Good training.

Cons

I was in the central division. The following possibly depends on area/division. Starting pay stinks. If you are in a position requiring constant travel, hard labor in all weather types, in an inherently dangerous job, you need paid more than that. Esp from a large company in the rail industry. Per diem isn't the greatest either. Lack of foreman participation required by the company.

Pros

The team is very friendly for the most part, if you ask for help most people will do whatever they can to assist.

Cons

Very little communication from the top down, leads to confusion and a feeling of not having a clear direction the company is headed in.

Pros

Start in 1998 as labor, then moved to operator , lead man, foreman, general superintendent. great company to learn and grow skills, company provided a lot of training and opportunities. Company focus on safety and quality. Decent health, vision, dental insurance, ok retirement plan,

Cons

New employees with no experience make same o more than 2-3 years experience employees. No bonus of any kind, to many "managers" on 1 office.( to many chiefs and no Indians ), bad communication between office personnel and field employees.
