Pros

Free food and decent benefits

Cons

Where do I begin! First, I would give negative stars if I could. The finance department is the worst, it’s a revolving door. They micro-manage everything you do. If you’re not Asian you’re beneath management. Surprise the entire management team is Asian. They will gather in a corner and talk about you in their language, right in front of you. How unprofessional! One of the director’s is a complete imbecile, has no idea what should be done but wants to tell you how to do your job! They watch your comings and going’s. They want you to work 10 to 12 hours a day and if you don’t, they will pull you aside and scold you like a child. All the while, they take 2 hour lunches, leave early and attend company gatherings. They say we could not attend the gatherings as their is work to do! They yell at you out in the open and tell you, all you do is make mistakes! What a TERRIBLE work environment! Stay away, you’ve been warned. People who start end up quitting within 90 days!

Pros

Ebates/Rakuten Rewards likes to make themselves seem like they are entirely different from other companies i.e. "fun." This is partly true as there are plenty of perks, and this is one of the best jobs you can have in the area for customer service. They have catered lunches nearly every day, great benefits, pay & PTO accrual rates, lots of free companies activities, and trust in their employees.

Cons

As you work there longer, the rose-colored glasses come off, and you start to see what truly lies beneath. Certain unsettling operations of the company like promoting people based off favoritism and not actual qualifications are quite common. This creates resentment in deserving individuals who don't brown nose to get ahead. Not every employee within the same department is held to the same standards. One employee may be exempt from a certain job duty that the rest of the team is required to do for no obvious reason, and it appears to be based off being liked by management. One employee may be absent the same amount of days as another employee, but only one employee will be talked to and reprimanded. There certainly needs to be more equality across the board and streamline processes so the scales aren't so tipped in certain people's favors. Another issue is company communication. It is often sparse and leaves the employees guessing. The company has made small improvements on this, but it has been underwhelming in comparison to the huge growth.
