A good place to work for some, but not me
Pros
- The Pay. Starting pay is $20/hr with plenty of opportunities to earn overtime and regular reviews for raises. - The Job. The job itself isn't particularly difficult but can be tedious at times. - Some of the people. The few people I had the pleasure of developing a friendship with there were incredible. I had great support from my supervisor.
Cons
- The hours. If you get a schedule you like then you're golden. If not, you're kinda stuck. - The Job. It's incredibly repetitive and sometimes you can deal with rude or angry "subscribers". Also, sometimes(frequently)I felt like we were understaffed and we were forced to deal with irate people because our response time wasn't fast enough. - Advancement: from what I saw it was virtually non-existent. The company functions as a pyramid and from what I saw people on the bottom rarely got to go to different functions they may be better suited for. And lastly but in my opinion the biggest con: 10 minute breaks and hypervigilance over every second of your day. It takes 2 minutes to get into the building. Then you're required to leave everything in your locker. Then you must log in to the phone and computer which can be slow at times. Once you clock in you're immediately expected to be processing calls. I was scolded for taking THREE(!!!) minutes from the time I logged in to start processing my calls. No time to check email for updates or the portal or anything. Then your 10 minute breaks start from the second you press a button and again if you're over 1 minute late you get reprimanded. Keeping in mind it takes ~4 mins to enter/exit the building. If you take too many bathroom breaks, reprimanded. Late from 30 minute unpaid lunch? Write up. Even the call center in other states had longer breaks, so clearly it didn't matter that much.
