The department brought in new leadership at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic who wrecked department morale more than the travel halt. Frequent, capricious changes to processes with no explanation compound the difficulties of conducting remote exams. HR does not do anything except going through the motion and taking sides with the management. You would feel like you are in somewhere in the middle of backwoods Midwest somewhere. If you are a minority, be cautious and look elsewhere.
