Pros

The people are friendly and willing to help. Projects are relatively simple depending on team.

Cons

Quite a bit below market pay especially with how high Tampa's cost of living has got. Benefits are subpar, raises are minimal. No incentive to stay long term. If you're in tech, avoid.

Pros

The company provides industry average compensation and good benefits/retirement plan. People are generally very friendly and there is no end to company social groups/events. The travel budget and expenses are fair. Team camaraderie is very high among rank and file employees.

Cons

The department brought in new leadership at the beginning of the COVID-19 pandemic who wrecked department morale more than the travel halt. Frequent, capricious changes to processes with no explanation compound the difficulties of conducting remote exams. New hires make much more than the current associates who train them and there is no attempt to remedy this imbalance. Hiring decisions are based on industry experience rather than job skill/ability. Top department leadership is incredibly imperious in meetings, with eye rolling, reference to their senior leadership peers making them feel very disconnected from the department. The primary function of the branch examinations department is to conduct branch examinations so you would think that senior leadership would actually observe at least one exam, but this isn't the case after over a year in place.

Look elsewhere for diversity

Pros

Flexible work hours The company puts client first and offers a good work and life balance.

Cons

Diversity is only a catchy phrase and is not really being practiced here in RJ . Sure, the company does spend some money for ethically based festivals or Mosaic event a few times year However, senior level management would turn an blind eye on the discriminatory behavior from lower lever manager because they are buddies. HR does not do anything except going through the motion and taking sides with the management. You would feel like you are in somewhere in the middle of backwoods Midwest somewhere. If you are a minority, be cautious and look elsewhere.
