Horrible Company

Business Outlook

Pros

Low cost cafeteria and ameneties.

Cons

At the beginning it may seem ok, but as you begin to open your eyes, this company does not care about its employees at all. They exploit you and demand too much based on what they offer. There is NO flexibility when it comes to needing time off. If you have no time available, they do not care and will not help you. They constantly demand more sales while making the compensation plan much more difficult to take advantage of, which leads to you earning less and less. You are treated like a young kid, having a certain amount of time to use the bathroom and offer little to no time to take a breather (30 mins for the whole day). They expect everything and give little back. This company will suck you dry until you can give no more. It takes away your social life and mental health.

Pros

- Younger team members are nice and eager to help - Provides opportunities to get involved in community volunteer programs - Decent benefits - Campus was cool back when commuting was a thing - CEO is well connected which could lead to future opportunities

Cons

- Lack of vision in the company, they don't build anything exciting, they just acquire businesses that are already performing well (and mismanage their acquisitions) - Limited career mobility if you enter through an acquisition. You'll maybe get promoted once but you won't be on "the leadership team" as they clearly favor Charlotte-based team members - Complete lack of transparency from leadership that claims "they're listening" but then does nothing to address the feedback they receive - Claim that "Constant change" is part of company culture but likely just a by-product of not knowing how to create a constructive organizational structure - Politics everywhere - Boring work, same old problems not getting solved because of limited resources - In my experience my vertical did not use industry standard technology like Hubspot, Salesforce, Drift/Intercom, so you fall behind your peers at other companies - Lining the pockets of white men and celebrity angel investors for no pay off (no bonus structure unless youre in the top 5% of performers)

Pros

moderate pay, smart people, great perks

Cons

Things that they tell you that turn out not to be true: * They value innovation. This is not correct. They value agreement with the status quo and legacy mentalities. * They value diversity. This is not correct. They value "woke" diversity, and virtue signaling, which is just noise. * Great values. Also incorrect. They companies values are what they tell themselves, so they can sleep at night. The executives seem to try and uphold the, with little execution. * You have a chance if you start slipping. Also not true. Many times, after being employeed you'll hear, "Hire slow, fire fast". You don't really understand, until you are scheduled a meeting, that looks standard, and laid off after. * There is no warning. There is no probation.* You will be paid lip service of how well you are performing, until you are terminated. Again, they tell themselves catchy phrases like, "Performance Culture", to help them sleep at night, when they drop people within as little as an hour's notice (that is NOT an exaggeration). * You will have no opinion, until you have been in the company many years. I've seen incredibly gifted executives recruited, and then let go because the old waterfall mentality of the company didn't understand a different way things were done. * They EAT companies INNOVATION. Their business model is to buy companies that are killing it, strap SEO/ Marketing on them, and add little to no value through innovation. * Work harder, not smarter mentality.
